Adios September! - hot, humid and with a memorable Hurricane to remember it by. It will be interesting to see what October brings, storm-wise, since some of the worst storms on record for this area have passed by (sometimes very close) in October. Here are the September stats: Average High Temperature: 87.4F/ 32.1C Low : 84.5F/ 29.2C Average humidity: High: 71% Low:65% Total rainfall: 12 inches (Sept. '04: 8.5 inches) Total rainfall to date: 33.09 inches! ('04 total: 20.14 inches, '05 total: 25.4 inches) The past two weeks have produced almost no rainfall, little spritzes once in awhile, but a total of only .42 in. since the 15th when Hurricane Lane dumped 9.58 inches of rain on us during a 4 day period - mainly on the 14th (4.4. inches) and the 15th (4.87 inches) These numbers don't seem to reflect what this summer has actually been like for us L.M. "all-timers". I can't remember being so enervated by the weather in a long time - maybe because it was so long between the cooling rains that make summers bearable. If they were all like this year, I might seriously consider going away for a couple of months (that would mean we'd miss some of the best things that happen here though, so that probably won't happen). I'd be interested to hear some other opinions on the subject though - anyone out there who wants to weigh in on this year's summer weather????
