Hello Jim and Susan, Willy brought our Ford pick down last year and it was registered in his name on his FM3. The Ford is still here in La Manzanilla. This year we decide to drive our Navi down. Willy got to the boarder and they would not let him cross since the Ford was still in Mexico and in his name. He had to drive all the way back to California (Sonoma)and get me...he wasn't happy about that! The issue was according to the Import computers Willy already had a car here (which we did). The Navi's title was in his name only and he only had a copy of our marriage certificate. So he couldn't register the car in my name with out me physically being there...bummer. When we got back to the boarder (with original marriage certifcate and me physically there) we were able to register the car in my name under my FM3. I would say the Customs computers still assumes your car is here in Mexico. Several years ago we drove down for the first time and was told to making sure to stop at Customs house going north(exiting). The reason being you need to stop at the Custom house(it's a little building across the road from the big import complex)is to have the custom's agent remove your registration sticker (they scrap it off) and then they give you papers that proves you have exited Mexico with the car. This was our experience. Good luck at the boarder Kimberly
