Went to bed last night expecting no more rain for a while. Old Norman had vanished from the map. Well, around 4-am the rain started again and it's still coming down. It's a slow- light to medium rain at times. Wunderground is overloaded so I can't see their map , but NOAA's water vapor map shows what looks like a pretty good patch of heavy rain that will probably continue for a while. It's now raining from Acapulco to PV. I took a walk up our hill yesterday and what I saw was not pretty. Renne, with this rain I doubt you'll be able to drive up to your house. A landslide has taken out the road going down to Allison's from your place and David and Gustavo are losing their hillside blocking that road. It looks like someone repaired the road after the last heavy rain, but with this additional rain it could become impassible. Cynthia, Marcia's, Galen, Janine, Dennis and Mary's all look fine. The road getting up is a mess but passible. Mary Joe, when are you coming this way. I heard and saw water running out of your garage and down the road. Can we do something? The road up to your place was still passible, but we are thinking of moving our cars to flat ground(that is not exactly safe either). The hillside down from the MCC is falling everyday. Cybil and Jose have rocks falling on their parking lot. The ground is really really saturated. Went to the airport on Saturday. The road past Cihuatlan is a mess with the new construction and flood damage. There are rivers and lagoons where there was none. The road between Tecuan and Arroyo Seco(lagoon road) no longer exist. If the rain stops later I'll try to get up higher on the hill. PS: It sounds like the rain is letting up!! |
