With Rosa gone and 20-E moving west we're left with a band of unsettled weather that extends for 100s of miles out into the Pacific. If that continues to give us these showers that make sleeping a delight- I'm all for it. Last night we must of gotten a little more than a sprinkle. I slept through it, but maybe Deanna has a record of how much we did get. These rains are keeping things really green and the remants of the mud and rock slides are vanishing behind over-growths of vines and grasses. I also wonder of it's keeping our usual abundance of butterflies this time of year from hatching or if it's the spraying for mosquitoes that's killed them all. I hope they will come later on . I would hate to think that we've killed them. I haven't seen or heard too many parrots either. Have they changed their flight paths with all the construction or is it the destruction of our hill sides that has taken away their habitat? Either way-the reason we came here is being destroyed everytime we see another "lote" wiped clear of vegetation, then jack-hammered into a flat lot to build four story skyscrapers that tower over our Mexican neighbors. Butterflies, Iguanas, Parrots, tree covered hills-what next? The Mexicans!! |
