Sergio is now a Cat. 2 hurricane, churning slooowly northward at 4 mph, as of this morning. The location at 9 AM was 12.9N/103W (L.M. is approx. 19N/105W). It's being sheared apart on the western side so may be losing a little strength but the forecast still has it passing by us on Sunday or Monday as a Cat. 1. If it stays on the course predicted by NHC it shouldn't impact La Manz greatly, but may produce some wind and rain. The last sentence of NHC's last update was "however - there is some uncertainty in the forecast and a track closer to the coast ...... is still possible so Mexico stay tuned". (!!!) |
