THANK YOU, everyone, I'm home from the hospital, and feeling better once again. A big problem with the hemorrhagic dengue is that the virus goes after your platelets, your red blood cells, and you just become extremely weak. By the time I went for tests, one week after the first dengue type symptoms, my platelets were only 20% of the minimum acceptable. They just loaded me up in an ambulance and sent me on to a hospital in Manzanillo. Do not pass go, do not collect.... I just kinda disappeared off the map into a world of enforced bed rest. I got good and careful treatment, with plenty of saline IV's, and was able to return home 3 days later. And, at no cost! I'm a fortunate gal. Adan Brambila, my friend, took care of my 5 dogs and visited me every day. He's been just great. Thank you Judith, Jorge, Arcelia, and Gabriella for finding me, and visiting! I was somewhat adrift, in a big ward of dengue cases, and it felt very good to see you. Thanks to many of you who've offered support and caring. I'm just gonna take it easy and rest alot. Mornings I'm more energetic (putter-mode), by mid afternoon I'm resting, and don't do much for the rest of the day. I'll be back walking on the beach, soon, I hope. |
