For those of you luckly enough to have spent time on the small black sand beach north of Arroyo Seco you should know that Yellowstone(new owners of Tamarindo) are trying their best to close the beach to public access. Yellowstone has bought the land up to the beach front, but as of yet have not been able to purchase the road going to the beach. There is a gate open to foot (surfboards of course) traffic only. I must say this has been a benefit because the beach is so much cleaner than it was. We have heard that Yellowstone built a building and gate closing off all access, but the Ejido dismantled it over night. Gooooo Ejido!! This beach is a gem and great fun for Surfers, both Mexican and gringo. If you want to be proactive and see this beach kept open for all to enjoy please send a message to the site below. I sent one and am waiting for a response. I'll let you know if I hear anything. If you want to see change or maybe that's actually no change(in this case) you need to get active and do something about it. If you have never been to this beach- pack a picnic, bring an embrella and go. Drive into Arroyo Seco take a right at the Y and stay to your right across the arroyo.
