Compared to Semana Santa, this week (Semana Pascua/Easter Week) is a non-event: fewer visitors, appearing to be more upscale. The beach is crowded, but not packed. The surf has been feisty, but not enough to keep people from enjoying it. A few outdoor stands still offer grilled chicken, but the omnipresent aroma of cooking meat is gone. Sadly, so is the churro vendor. Neither pedestrian nor vehicle traffic is noteworthy. No road rage, no whoopin’s. Ho hum, sorry to disappoint you, Tim, but La Manzanilla is pretty much back to normal, or as normal as this place gets. |
