The chicks have a huge fenced in area to run in during the daytime. Sometimes something gets over the fence and just kills them without eating them. They are then put in a big pen at nighttime totally wired in. We have discovered a couple of holes in the wire so have fixed that. We suspect that it might be a snake at nighttime or a lizard as we just killed a Gila Monster too. I bet this is what happened to my small pussycat as well poor thing. My dogs hate going out at night time. We have to accompany them with flashlights. The night time sounds are facinating but a bit frightening. |
