We crossed into the US via Nogales after almost 6 months in La Manz. The border guard asked if we had papers for the dog and we said yes. He never asked to actually see them. When we reached the Canadian border a few days later the Canadian guard asked to see the papers. All shots were up to date and there was also a certificate of health issued by our vet before we left for Mexico in November. I don't think they are looking for anything else issued in Mexico, just info. showing that the dog is healthy and his rabies and other immunizations are up to date. Last year we were never even asked. I think they see a healthy dog in the car and they just wave you through. Hope this helps. Susan PS: We did, however, have a mango (1) and all hell broke loose! That is another story. |
