This is the first time I've seen two named storms this early in the season - TD 1-E, which became TS Alvin and has already been downgraded back to a depression, and now TD 2-E which is expected to become a tropical storm and track close to the southern Mexican coast. It would be very unusual to have one of these storms get close to La Manz before August or September, but it's great news for weather junkies! Just save the wunderground site: http://www.wunderground.com/tropical and you can follow the discussions from National Hurricane Center, watch the computer models change as the storms move, get updated tracking maps every few hours (the Flash Tracker is very cool) and see satellite photos that are the best you'll find anywhere. May has been comfortable and cool until a few days ago when the humidity kicked in and it started to feel like summer. The temperature hasn't gotten over 86F/30C (mostly low 80's the first part of the month) but the humidity is now in the mid 70's which makes it seem |
