Went to Playa Pascuales 3 times, every time there was a red tide, probably the same one for 3 months. I made 3 trips to the hospital for respiratory problems. I was told I had severe asthma, which I have never had in my life. Every time I got better, I returned to Playa Pascuales, Manzanillo or La Manzanilla where there was a red tide, and each time I had to go to the hospital. Druggist in US told me that the toxin will become airborne via waves and wind. Breathing this will cause severe problems and can cause Anaphylactic shock if these reactions are allergic reactions. Each time I am away from the red tide, it takes a month to recover, but I finally get off the albuterol and return to normal. Anyone else had this type of reaction? |
