Rainfall total during the past 24 hours is now 5.23 inches and continuing as I write this. The "pronostico" on CNA is still for 2 or 3 more days of rain - let's hope they've got that one wrong. We're reaching super- saturation in some areas already (see Jane's post this afternoon). The arroyo opened up this morning and the water just offshore is a nasty brown color all the way down the beach. On the other hand, some of the local kids are having a wonderful time in the rain and the mud - falling down in the deep puddles and fishing stuff out of the arroyo (not sure I want to know exactly what that stuff is!). I'm feeling a little soggy tonight and if I don't see the sun for at least a few minutes tomorrow, my attitude about the rain will probably change radically (I was brought up in Seattle and never thought I'd welcome the sight of rain coming over the horizon). Que pasa, LIsa???? I'll update rainfall data in the morning. |
