I saw a family arrive to have vacation in the home next to my office. |
Later while returning from a walk I saw the father running along the beach while pulling a boogie board with his 7-year-old son on it. I had never seen that before, what fun for them, what fun for me to watch.
Around sunset while sitting out back I saw the covered with sand children gather around their covered with sand father for a much delayed and problem prone photo shoot. The wives missed the best photo due to not understanding the equipment, but I got the photo in my minds eye, it was one of those you frame and look at later in life when things have changed and say " I was happy that day".
On into the evening after the red ball of the sun had set I saw the father lying on the beach, his 4 year old daughter running toward the water to get toy shovel full after toy shovel full of wet sand which was then placed on the back of the more than willing father who was savoring the attention, the moment, the time spent with his daughter.
This is how those who are not used to living at the beach experience their first day of vacation, full of wonderment, love, devotion and enjoyment. Experiencing the release of the pressures of the world, as vacations are so known for doing. The parents will most likely make love tonight and sleep the sleep of fulfillment, of contentment and joy.
I was full of appreciation for being allowed to observe the love and the partaking of life that I was seeing. This is how life should be, not parents grieving because their child has just been blow to bits by one enemy or the other, not problematic because the child is so spoiled by all of the material distractions that they can not participate in the simple pleasures of life.
This evening, as on so many other evenings I saw peace, the most sought after item on the planet. I saw love, I saw heaven.
