Hi Dave We went through the process in Vancouver last year. Our FM 3's were mailed to us and we were told to have them stamped upon entering Mexico for the first time. This we did. We then drove to Manzanillo with our FM's to have them stamped as per the instructions given to us by the Mexican Consulate in Vancouver. Then we were told we would have to go through the whole process again in Mexico and would have to fill out new forms, etc! They took our FM's away along with the documentation we luckily took with us, and told us to return in 3 weeks. This we did and all is well.....why did we bother going to the trouble of attending the consulate office in Vancouver on 3 separate occasions (we live on an island)? The consulate also inserted a hologram-like visa complete with photos and finger prints into our Canadian passports! I guess everyone has their own story, no two are alike. So, my point is: why bother getting your FM'3 anywhere other than Mexico? Good Luck! And, take all your backup paperwork with you when you attend the office in Manzanillo. S. |
