Heard tree frogs singing last night for the first time (love those tree frogs!) and land crabs are now scrambling around trying to find someplace to hide after being washed out of their homes yesterday. That initial rainfall turned into a real thunderstorm which resulted in .59 in. of rain. I looked up last year's June statistics and found that we had more early rain in "06 - 1.88 inches on June 2nd and 1.69 on June 3rd (how quickly we forget!), with a total rainfall of 3.84 for that month. This May produced some of the best weather I've seen in La Manz. The average high temp was 82F/27C, The CNA site this morning calls for an 80-100% chance of rain (and possibly hail??) in the Central Pacific area because of a tropical wave offshore of Manzanillo, and very high temperatures ("calurosa y muy calurosa". Skies are overcast as I write this and that forecast sounds about right - yesterday's was right on. If it gets really exciting and the electricity stays on (we had only partial power yesterday, which is not enough to run our water pump -a real drag in hot weather), I'll report |
