Your power as a consumer is your dollars. You did the right thing but now don't have that store to use. Damned if you do and screwed if you don't. I personally dislike when there are price differences but realize it's "normal" in tourist towns. What I really don't like is when local year round citizens are seen as free spending tourist simply because the look like tourist. The best case scenario would be the ability to communicate in a way that becomes a sort of fun negotiation instead of an stern ultimatum. I guess it all depends on just how cool the pot of water is before the flame is applied. D |
