Rain, rain, rain! Henriette is still slightlly south of us. sloooowly moving to the west-northwest at 3 knots. At this rate, it may rain all day tomorrow too. It was expected that the storm would pass by about 4 AM this morning, slowly strengthening to hurricane status, but instead Henriette is still mushing around offshore as a tropical storm, dumping a lot of rain along the coast. No big mudslides so far, but the ground is pretty saturated and more rain with no break to dry things out would not be a good thing. Rainfall for the past two days totalled .93 inches but as of 7 PM today we've registered almost 2 inches (1.95 in.) and rain bands associated with the storm just keep coming in - accompanied by some pretty strong wind gusts. Boca rainfall was 1.7 inches during the past two days - don't know what today's is yet. Haven't heard any news of damage along the coast |
