Hi - The best map package seems to be from Mexico Maps. Even though they are in Santa Barbara, they appear to make most of the maps for Mexico (those red shiny covered oversized book like things). Their maps are only loadable onto Garmins. I opted for a Zumo 550 which is actually a motorcycle version with a car mount and adaptor, because I live on the beach and wanted something that was watertight. I had the Mexico Map guy (Mark) order the Zumo and put in the chip with their map package. I just did this and have two observations so far: I paid lots more for the Zumo than I would have needed to if I had gotten it online and, so far, (I've had it one day), I can't get the Mexico map portion to initialize. If you can wait a few weeks, I can let you know what happens next. |
