I hate to be a pessimist, but here are two facts: 1. Sewers...The system was a priority of the former administration. The new administration has its own priorities (whatever they are). The new system is not hooked up to houses because neither administration pushed. The effort was making a sign which listed what every user would have to pay for hookup. 2. Water...at least two weeks, or maybe more, since the last big rain. Yet there is water flowing in the Arroyo, which apparently rises up near the Maria Asuncion crossing. Apparently there also is clear water bubbling up from the low point in the sewer system, near the billiard parlor and less than 50 yards from the pumping station. Could it be that there is a break in one of the water pipes leaking into the sewer system? We'll find out next spring, when the wells will have to be deepened, again. |
