A friend anchored their 50' Amel Sail boat (6' draft)behind the rocks off the point at the South end of town (directly off shore from Martin's restaurant. The boat was there for several months. There are rocks in the area but also a lot of good holding sand. You should dive the area first to check it out. Other friends have anchored in the same area for over nighters and found the prevailing NW wind and swell make it most uncomfortable. Often times the wind and waves die at sunset but when they don't, the boat is safe (assuming proper ground tackle, anchor setting, etc,)but the passengers are miserable. |
