Critican modificaciones a la ley que protege el manglar

The Mexican Center for Environmental Law (Cemda); del Mayab Ecological Group (Gem); Conservation of Marine Mammals in Mexico (Comarino), the International Fund for Animal Welfare and its Habitat, and Greenpeace Mexico, said through a communique that these changes aims to "empower" the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) powers "discretionary" which will allow the destruction of mangrove areas in exchange for compensation.
This is the initiative put forward on 29 November by Senators panistas Guillermo Tamborrel, Eva Contreras, Luis Alberto Coppola, Sebastian Calderon and Jaime Rafael Diaz, it promotes reforms to Article 60 of the General Law Ter Wildlife and article 28 of the General Law of Ecological Balance and Environmental Protection.
