This is actually sad news for ecology and sea turtle lovers. Over the New Years period because of this open road, countless vehicular traffic accessed the beach. The onsite biologist at Boca de Iguanas counted at least three sea turtles one night who attempted to come ashore and were frightened off by cars, noises, people driving on the beach and lights. This is a shame.... and the main reason cars and trucks are BANNED from beaches in Mexico. |
