I have entered SFO with our dog many times, and customs has never asked for anything! Officials were only interested in if we had any dog food with us, then threw the small baggie-full we had into the trash. They never even glanced at the dog. What is required by the U.S., and what we always have along in case they do ask, are the papers from the Mexican vet stating your dog is in good health. On those papaers are written exactly when the pet had his last rabies vaccine, and the specific lot number and expiration date. The visit to the Mexican vet must be within a week of departure. That should do it. |
