Last night the Sewer Committee and Gustavo collected 7500 pesos from eight people we saw and got promises to pay from a few more. We were refused by three gringo owners who wanted to have more information before they would pay. We mentioned they could attend the meeting next Tuesday at 7 and get them answered. I was explained that the sewer is not going to be multiple choice. The payment has been ordered by La Huerta and the local officials will be enforcing it. As to what the enforcement will include I have no idea. They will have the order at the next meeting. Some of the questions asked by those non-Mexicans we spoke to were: Is there a map of the entire sewer line with the connections shown for the system? Do we know what happens if your connection was placed in the wrong spot, will it be corrected? Is there a step by step process that will be followed for the turn up of the system? Who will be in charge of the sewer and it's maintenance (i.e. who do we call, if it backs up to clear the plug)? How many people have paid already and what about those who cannot pay? Well that is all I can report as of this minute. Please come to the meeting next Tuesday at 7pm and bring someone to translate for you,if you cannot speak the language.
