You Made it Happen – “A Night under the Stars”

Congratulations La Manzanilla for holding another successful “Night under the Stars”! With the contributions raised from this year’s combined events, the children and schools of La Manzanilla came away the big winners!

We wanted to extend a warm thanks to everyone who participated! Without you, we couldn’t make this happen, so no matter how small or large your contributions—the children of La Manzanilla thank you!

Once again, we had astounding support from the local community which tells us our work here is important. Did you know we had over 250 items donated to the cause?

Auction Snapshot: (* all figures in pesos)

Combined Event Revenue: $70,365.00
Combined Event Expenses: $7,796.65
Combined Event Profit: $62,568.35

How is the money being used?

50% invested in the construction an Educational Center housing La Manzanilla’s first community library and computer lab.
25% invested in 1 of 10 free educational programs available to the community
25% invested in the schools of La Manzanilla for earmarked projects

Money in Action:

With the funds raised la Catalina Educational Foundation has hired a Full time Janitor for the elementary school. With this new addition to the school children are benefiting from a clean environment and 2.5 hours more of class time a week!

Quote of the Day: Delia – Elementary School Principle

“Now when we arrive the school is clean, the children enter class and start learning right away in a comfortable environment, it is so much better. Thank you”
