The ejido of La Manzanilla has donated a lot for the construction of the Educational Center housing la Manzanilla's first public library,free community computer lab and community classrooms on the lot beside the elementary school and behind the kindergarden.
We have been working hard with the community to assure that the building is what the community wants and needs. The support from the local community has been incredible and we have a long list of local residents who have already committed to helping with different phases of the project. The teachers and students from the local schools are also very excited to have this dearly needed infrastructure added to the community.
Currently we are in the initial implementation phase of the project. We have concluded the planning phase that entailed writing a project proposal, a project charter, a project budget, marketing material and different grants proposals. We also have been working on creating a project team, collecting the required capital and have held extensive meetings with both schools and the ejido of La Manzanilla to complete the risk analysis summary.
In April we will be inviting people to our website where we will be posting a thermostat showing money collected, project milestones, task completions and project sponsors.
