The Mexicans use chlorine to wash and disinfect their produce. I find that some 'blanquedor' is more concentrated than others. Just a few drops in a dishpan for 10 minutes. If you can smell it on the lettuce then you have used too much.
Let air dry thoroughly on a clean towel. Microdyne is expensive. I heard that it is just iodine, so would iodine from the pharmacy be just as effective?
