Sunday was , in my opinion, a momentous day for the entire community of la Manzanilla. The potential of real stability in terms of land ownership and controlled social, ecological and economic development here in La Manzanilla is greater than ever thanks to the reasoned and rational resolution by our Ejido to a difficult dispute situation. This resolution and new optimism is due in no small part to the efforts of Victor Manuel,who I thank personally with great admiration for the service he provided to all of us that day. Victor stepped up to the plate on Sunday. He grasped the significance of the issues, and the potential consequences to the whole Community. He was in a unique position to present this case to the Ejido and did so in such a way that not only has the original issue been resolved but a new window of opportunity has been created for the community. Thanks to Victor we all have a much clearer understanding of the importance of nurturing a healthy relationship with our Ejido and we have a means to bring new and real stability to La Manzanilla. In addition to Victor I also offer sincere thanks to all of the people who were working anonymously and invisibly behind the scenes in an effort to achieve a fair and equitable resolution for the parties involved and the Community as a whole. Life is good.
