Hey, thanks for all the great suggestions. All us driving types will benefit from the tips! Tonight I am the Blythe Spirit! Reporting in from the Super 8 here which unlike Motel 6's has WiFi. Paid $3.44 for gas at Love's in Quartzite,AZ after the whistling head wind sucked up all my cheap Mexican gas. Spent Thursday night at my usual haunt - Paraiso Miramar south of San Blas - muy tranquil, but not as inexpensive as it once was. Friday night, following R&J's advice I stayed at Creston Motel in San Carlos. First thing I did was jump into the pool. It was pretty quiet and close to the beach for a stretch-the-legs walk. Tonight I'm in Blythe. I took Charlie & K's advice about crossing at Sonoyta, easy-peasy...hardly any traffic going my way on an arrow straight road, a quick stop at the car permit place at KM 226, two lines to choose from at the border - the one I chose had two cars in front of me and I was on my way in less than 10 min, then up the road to Gila Bend and west to Blythe. Ah, time for a chilled sip of white wine. Motorin' on tomorry, XOR |
