To all of you gardeners out there it's a sad day but it has to be done. The Agriculture Dept. has a crew of workers that is going around town removing Hibuscus plants and African Guyo(yellow and green leaves-gorgeous flowers) trees.
This pink Mealy bug is infesting the State of Jalisco and they are doing what they can to stop it from destroying fruit trees.
They are here at my house today chain sawing our beautiful tree, but it is non-indigenous and a carrier of this bug.
The Hibiscus seems to be the other plant of choice for this nasty bug. I don't know how many plants they will dig up. Yes they actually dig them up. Some people have lost as many as 11 plants from their garden.
