Yesterday the Mexican Information System (a pick up truck with loud speakers) announced a meeting that evening at 6pm in the Jardin of La Manzanilla with the President of La Huerta asking for all interested in speaking with him to attend.

The meeting at the Jardin with the President of La Huerta, the President of the Ejido and the Mayor of La Manzanilla was held at 6pm. Very few attended this meeting.

The President of La Huerta impressed upon our local officials their need to complete the collection of the funds for the sewer connections and for the pavers of the streets afterwards. The work must start quickly. If an accurate count of those who have paid and those refusing to pay is not received by La Huerta by Monday, the President of La Huerta said the funds will pulled and the work will not be completed here. The President of La Huerta left.

Oswaldo, the President of the Ejido, and Gustavo, the Mayor of La Manzanilla, got busy organizing those few who attended the meeting into groups to canvas our village and get signatures from all. The signatures will attest to willingness to continue. Oswaldo and Gustavo are putting together a document to read to each home owner before they sign. Tonight we will deliver the message to all we visit. Additional moneys (1500 pesos) will be collected from those who have not paid. (To date we have collected from 50 home owners.)

Those of you who are not in town should instruct your caretakers of your properties to sign for you as soon as possible.
