Yeah, that got my attention last night! Anyone have any tips for newbies re: safety & calm during a lightening storm? I know the basics re: unplug everything and have been told to stay away from: appliances, electric outlets and windows...which by my view leaves nowhere safe. Thus last night I was reduced to deep breathing and repeatedly counting my toes. The snakes and spiders and other bugs and water all over the place and other challenges of the rainy season have thus far barely touched my reserves of enthusiasm for life in Mexico. The lightening, however, is my personal fear factor. Any tips re: safety or reassurances that lightening is highly unlikely to strike a house or near enough to be a threat to personal safety would be much appreciated. I'm living up on a hill and during the storm last night I felt a tad "high and exposed," so to speak. Thanks! Christina |
