Sorry Jean I just could not resist. Not sure which Jean said it but about 8 months ago it was being discussed about the water shortage issue and how road watering was a big part of the water problem, I mentioned that the roads wwere supposd to get paved this summer and a "Jean" wrote the site and told me "to get real it will never happen". Don't really blame anyone for doubting that but it was too funny to pass up.

No biggie, I am glad the roads are getting taken care of and I like the discussion about limiting traffic on some roads. I worked for the City of Santa Cruz on their plan to make their roads more pedestrian friendly and would be willing to help any way I can. I retire next March and can spend more time there on water and flood issues too.

We need to consider a route for "Flood Overflow" during big storms. Some dedicated relief channel should be considered and set up for our future floods.

That flat area called downtown did not get there by itself. It is an old flood plain that got filled in. And the flods will come back in greater force in the future.

I have a great deal of training and education in Forestry, watershed management, natural flood control and stream restoration, this can all be planned with streets and pedestrian areas in mind.
