We are so pleased to see the adoquin going down and that the mud from the storms didn't stop the work. Though I believe people will still throw waste water onto the streets( where else to throw it until there is a functioning sewer?) the streets will be a much nicer place to walk and drive. No doubt topes will go in, they always do. It is the only way to slow traffic in Mexico. What a relief that adoquin was chosen and not cobble stone as was being suggested by some of the planners which is a cheaper way to go but in my opinion a very unfomfotable ride especially on a bike. |
The improvements are great and in Mexico they do come around at their own pace! not ours. I read about how this person and that are saying things about future changes to the town streets and how they should be done. Well, ideas are great and everyone is intitled to their opinion, but don't forget that this is Mexico and most of us who write and read this board are not Mexicans. We came to Mexico because we love being there, or did we? Some people seem to have come to try and impose their way and their ideas. The "experts" from other countries may have a good idea or two but please don't expect a few visitors to a foreign country to be able to sway their hosts to do extroadinary improvements in a hurry that they(the locals) have no resourses to accomplish. Mexico is an old country and they have their own ways of getting things done. This probably seems mysterious to us at times but I say relax, enjoy what you have, and respect the people the in their country for who they are and what they do.
I for one am overjoyed to see this huge improvement, ALL who live in La Manzanilla will live a better quality of life for it. Let the rest unfold at it's own pace.
