I just read this. I can give you a detailed response in the next week or two if you want. I have 18 years of of practice in this field. In general, Hard Water is not a bad thing. It simply means you have minerals in your water. Minerals that are good for the body. They bottle this type of water chemistry around the world, and sell it back to you for a premium buck.

But with Hard Water comes soap and shampoo and the like products that don't "soap-up" very well, and hot water heaters that will foul-up more often in residential use. Filtering this chemistry is expensive, and will add no health value, unless you are prone to Gall Bladder stones, or Kidney stones.

As was mentioned, the real problem is bacteria. From what I saw, no "BAC T" testing was done, and we would all likely be shocked at the results of such a test. Municiple water systems in the us are required to take these test samples EVERY DAY.
