Just a couple of thoughts from someone who is familiar with the Costa Alegre of Mexico for the past 30 years as well as specifically with Tenacatita, La Manzanilla and Melaque. Perhaps ciclones and tropical storms are not as frequent as they are in the coastal areas of the U.S. and other parts of the world, but they do take place and usually with little warning: sudden changes of direction or speed. We need to be prepared for the tropical storm season every year as in any other area of the world where there are storms. Those of us who live in Melaque, perhaps have a bit more information about prepareness because we`ve had a tourist police available in the past two years who is teaching people in town how to be ready for storms. You guys in La Manzanilla need to do the same find someone who will form groupls and teach people thus avoiding casualties. Saludos, |
