Hi Ron, (your post in black)

The recent post re. the road from La Huerta to Hwy 200 and the birding opportunities in the mountains above present a unique opportunity to many of our local Mexican friends.

Not sure what you mean by this, kids, adults? To get them interested in such things?

Our Amigos , both in La Manzanilla and in El Norte often have family still living on the family lands....Maybe local or up in Cocula. Lots of bird species migrate South in the Winter. How about we bring up this idea for clean, green tourism to our Amigos?

Immersion Adventures had a good start on it but geared toward foreigners http://www.immersionadventures.com/birdingtours.htm

I do wonder about the reasons Dave left, so much work abandoned including the tax exempt Tierra Alegre.

Perhaps something you would care to pick up on?

Perhaps, a cooperative place for inquires for different bird species? Hotels y Resturantes, Jeep Rental? Autobus tour? Guides?

I am sure there are message boards out there for just such a thing. Personally I find message boards that section things off into subjects (as a way to try and limit the number of post on the main board) to be counter productive. I feel it best to train / educate the messageboard user how "not to click" on something, as apposed to sectioning things off as "not clicking" is a part of learning to use the Internet. This board may work for your suggestion if it was La Manz related.

A close friend is a 'birder', complete with cameras, etc. and loves to travel for the photo ops and the hiking. One of thousands.

A GREEN Idea, Ron Goodspeed

If you were to assemble the basic information i.e. photos of birds with dialog / links (and whatever else you feel pertinent to La Manz) I will build the pages and host them gratis.

Personally I like to watch birds and would like to know more about the local species. I have thought about what you have suggested before, (If Friggate birds can't land due to their wing span, then where do they land?) it would add depth as a LM reference guide.

It's pretty green here now, very green actually. What better way to celebrate?

Tbo came into the office recently and asked me how things were in the "little apple"? (as opposed to New York "the big apple"). I thought that was a pretty cool way to refer to LM. Or the "green apple".
