The Iglesia was constructed at the same time the Hacienda was, originaly was a small catidral tipe, but small with only one tower but for some reazon was never finish so they biuild the new one on top of the old one just like the casa ejidal was biuld on top of the old escula, the modern vertion that you see this days.
There was a time where la manzanilla didm't have a prist and the iglesias was abandoned lots a weeds an zacate growing inside and aout then the padre gustavo came to town and a lot happen, he estared the tradition of la virgen de la asuncion I remember when we went to la casa de don santos guzman to get la virgen from his house and carried to the iglesia it was someting new and was like one houer or two then, la misa.
The folowing year the padre and the organizers did a veter job with the banda in the morning las mananitas.
Agoust is a month when the economy slows down at lease on those days, bat life was goood so simple and pure and full of dreams I rtemember the smell on the late days of agoust when my dad used to plant corn and pampinks and in september I was sick at lease one week because I was alergic to corn pollen and no body knew it was horrible because when I was a kid in la manzanilla it was fun every single day and you don't want to miss it.
About those cuetes "bombs" if you don't like it move some place else on earth.
