We will be down in early November and are bring a wheelchair or two with us that you are welcome to have for your father. We are part of freewheelchairmission.org. They fit anyone, are lightweight and off-road (see the web site)
In the mean time, we gave one to Yoli's(sp)daughter when she had suguary on here leg. If she is not using it, I would think that you could use it.
If there is someone in the LA area coming down sooner, you can go by their office and get one and bring in with you on the airline. They let you bring it no charge and do not count it as luggage.
