Actually, it was a different blob, which showed up just before the lightning started. I considered putting a warning on the message board but decided it didn't look too threatening since it appeared to be moving offshore and was still north of us. Wrong! I decided to shut down the computer because of the lightning and about then it started to get interesting. We only received a total of .20 inches of rain but it was pretty dramatic while it lasted. Darwin remarked that the low, dark, fractured clouds over the bay looked like the kind that spawn tornados. Thankfully, that didn't happen, but it was definitely another one of those exciting events that can occur at the end of the hurricane season. There's another little blob offshore right now that could generate a little rain if it continues toward us. |
