Oh, yes, I heard about the tree right away, and have since seen pictures of the mess... too bad, but yes, really lucky no houses were damaged. I remember talking with you about whether it had some dead branches, or whether the leaves had already fallen; the two nursery owners I asked about it seemed to think it was healthy...but apparently, the roots of the tree had rotted away - anyway, now I am interested in planting vegetables, not trees, till I find out what is a better species to have so close to the house! Any input about all this is welcome. And thanks to Paul, Mazinka, Domitilo, Javier, and anyone else who informed me, and got at the clean-up so quickly...it's really a helpless feeling to have this happen when I am so far away...adios, bonita primavera.
