We each have our own decisions to make. As I said in the post, mine was to approach and give some information (crocodiles are dangerous & dogs have been eaten) and upon receiving no sense that I was getting anywhere, I left it at that. I then took another step and today asked who to notify if something like this happens again, so that in the future I will have an option that I did not have yesterday. I will feel sad if another dog is eaten, as I felt when I heard of dogs being eaten in the past. I will not feel guilt, however, because I will know I did and am doing what I feel is the best with the information I have and the choices in front of me. I will also realize that although every choice we make has an impact, my encounter with one person on one day is not the sole determinant regarding what happens with animals and crocodiles in La Manzanilla. If there is something more you would like to explain to me about the crocodiles and my ability to help avoid a potentially dangerous situation, feel free to email me. Thanks! |
