If you know someone coming down from the US ask them to bring down a couple of Ultrasonic Pest Repellers - you can get them at Home Hardware and places like that. They cost about $20 and are worth their weight in gold! They plug into an outlet and will repel the mice from your area - you don't hear it and neither will your pets - but it shoos the mice away! No kidding! Ours was accidently unplugged and we had a mouse enter - the next day it was gone and has not returned. Hope you get one! (or two)
