In days gone by..this new age as you refer it, was called Paganism. Definition: Paganism is a spiritual way of life which has its roots in the ancient nature religions of the world. It is principally rooted in the old religions of Europe, though some adherents also find great worth in the indigenous beliefs of other countries.
Bible: The apostal Paul refers to a group of people he met and spoke to that had a "god" for every possible thing...and they even had a statue for the "Unknown god", just to make sure their bases were covered. Within Christianity, it was and is frowned upon....and Paul did show them the way to the one and true God...and they were pleased.
