Try looking up the site below for investments. In 2006 they acquired Lloyd investment in Mexico and that is where most of the people I knew that have money have their accounts. Also stay away from Banamex which is owned by Citigroup for your savings. It's okay to have a small savings and checking account with them but you would be even better off using Bancomer in Cihuatlan a bit further to drive but not a bank owned by a US megagroup. Also if you set up an account with Santander at the Commercial Shopping center in Manzanillo you can transfer funds from a Bank of America account using "SafeSend"...$3000 per month to $36k annually. Crossing the border you can bring $9900 cash...risky.
