A Mexican womens collective has formed to create a day care center for their young children to have a place to be while the mothers are working at their jobs. They have rented a house on the main road coming into town and need a lot of help from the community to set up the space for the children.

Items needed: 20 small plastic childrens chairs, 3 plastic door barriers, childs toilet seat for regular toilet, small plastic step stool, sleeping pads for naps, television and dvd player for videos, cd player for music, first aid kit, a fire extinguisher, 3 small, low, long wooden tables, one cookstove (can be just on the counter type), one propane tank, small refrigerator, 20hard plastic washable cups, plates and spoons.... a blender, 2 kingsize bottom sheets, small child size blankets for naps, shelves for toys and books...

If you have any of the above items and want to donate them you can call Abi 044-315-104-9489... also you can drop things off at the Galeria La Manzanilla in the patio... We will also have a donation box at the Galeria if anyone wants to donate money so these things can be bought..

Also, books, childrens toys (the creative kind, leggos, blocks, paper, crayons, etc)..

Abi says there is a used childrens store here in La Manzanilla that has the perfect tables and also good toys, very inexpensive... its on Calle Tamarindo (bookstore street) go down towards the barrio 3 blocks and its at Ritas house.. on the right on the corner.. no sign but you will see things around the yard or ask neighbors...

So this is a very good opportunity to help these young mexican mothers and of course, any young children are welcome to come. They have to pay rent and utilities on the space so they will be figuring out their rates for daily childcare.thank you all for your support, Abi and Silver
