After working for 2 days in Rocio's office Yolanda, from Mexico City, was ready to do a little field work. I was up for the challenge so we loaded up Larry's truck and Rusty's jeep and headed to Rafa's and Flaco's ranch down the road from the dump. With 15 dogs ready for a new healthy life we put on our aprons and waited for the first to come into recovery. Within an hour we had puppies recovered and running around under the surgery tables as others were being worked on. Rodrigo, Karen, Marcia, Rusty and Larry were a huge help. We all had a great time-including the dogs. Rusty and I returned the next day to check on everyone and found them all wagging their tails and feeling great. For about $3500pesos we were able to spay and neuter 37 animals- 7 cats from Luis and Maria's across from the Primaria, 2 abandoned dogs, 15 at the ranch and the rest that came in with their owners. We were also able to give Rocio a huge amount of experience in a very short time with the best there is -Yolanda! In the states that would of been the cost to spay one dog. Thank you all who contribute to Cisco's Amigos. getting started 2 tables going just a few of the 15 the next day. |
