The U.S. Consulate General Guadalajara periodically sends out notices of interest to as many American citizens in its area as possible through a network of local wardens. I am a local warden and currently maintain a Consulate Mailing List of approximately 60 names of permanent and part-time American residents in our area.

The notices cover all sorts of topics including travel and weather alerts, changes in passport and other administrative procedures and regulations, advice about absentee voting, contact information for the Consulate’s various departments and the normal and emergency services on offer to American citizens here and throughout Mexico...

If you are an American citizen – a permanent or regular part-time resident- and would like to be added to the Consulate Mailing List, please send your name and e-mail address to berlewis@gmail.com with your request to be added to the List.

For your information, the names and addresses on this confidential list are used only for the purposes of distributing the periodic notices and are not even seen by Consulate personnel.

Here are three very useful “anytime you want them” websites: The first one is for the main website at the U.S. Consulate General. It has a lot of useful information and also many links to different State Department websites. The second link will take you to the State Department’s Internet-based travel registration program and the third to the travel information site.
