Hello, Jolanda from Jolandas restaurant on the beach in La Manzanilla, organise another rice table evening on wednesdayevening january 28 6:30 p.m. (All these diner items will be on the table and include the diner price) Indonesian fried rice White rice Chinese sweet tomato soup with chicken Balinese beef stew Thai fish patties with hot and sweet sauce Thai ginger chicken Chinese sweet and sour shrimps Indonesian meatballs with peanut sauce Indonesian pork braised in spicy pineapple-soya sauce White fish in yellow curry sauce Chinese pork egg rolls with Thai hot and sweet sauce Chinese omelet with shrimp in a ginger-tomato sauce Indonesian corn cookies Indonesian hot chili paste Indonesian style green beans in chili–tomato sauce Tropical fresh fruit salad Indonesian pickled beets Indonesian cabbage/carrot sweet sour salad Fried bananas with honey Thai cucumber salad Only reservations: Jolandas restaurant and Bar Maria asuncion 136 la manzanilla One serving Time: 6:30 p.m. Only $250 pesos Diner will be served family style all these dishes will be served at once. What is a rice table: Rijsttafel, Or Rice table, is that marvelous Indonesian feast savored by the Colonial Dutch. My father would spin tales of native cooks working 2 whole days preparing the 20 or more Sajours, Satays and Sambals. From Sumatra he not only brought us culinary delights, but also his favorite recipes so our family could enjoy the piquant blending of spices created in the East Indies. Today, when I prepare our family's recipes from the fabled Spice Islands, my American, Mexican, and European clients urge me to share these fabulous taste secrets with them. Encouraged by their enthusiasm, I have developed, The Rijsttafel on Wednesdays evenings, and not only Indonesian, but also Thai, Chinese or Indian rijsttafels are available.
